Shoot Your Shot ("SYS Dating") is a dating and relationship platform engineered exclusively for consenting adults. This Age Suitability statement details our age ratings across app distribution platforms (Apple App Store and Google Play), our age verification mechanisms, safety safeguards, and parental controls.
Strictly 18+ Requirement (Adults Only)
Shoot Your Shot strictly requires all members to be at least 18 years of age. While the Apple App Store categorizes mature dating applications under its highest age-tier classification of 17+, our platform policy, Terms of Service, and registration age gates strictly require all users to be 18 or older. Minors under the age of 18 are strictly prohibited from using this service.
1. App Store & Platform Age Ratings
Shoot Your Shot is assigned these ratings because it facilitates adult dating, one-on-one private messaging, voice notes, photo sharing, and proximity-based discovery between adults.
2. Minimum Age Requirement (Strictly 18+)
No person under the age of 18 is permitted to create an account, log in, or use Shoot Your Shot.
- Age Gate at Registration: All users must declare their birth date during registration. Anyone who indicates an age under 18 is permanently blocked from proceeding.
- Account Verification: We utilize identity and selfie verification tools to detect fraudulent or underage accounts.
- Immediate Account Termination: If we obtain credible information or suspect that an account holder is under 18 years of age, their profile, content, and session are immediately purged without notice.
3. Child Safety & CSAM Zero Tolerance
In compliance with Apple App Store Review Guideline 1.2, Google Play Developer Policies, and federal law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A), Shoot Your Shot maintains an uncompromising zero-tolerance policy regarding child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or the sexual exploitation of minors.
- Any attempt to distribute, upload, or solicit CSAM or exploit a minor will result in instant account termination, permanent hardware/device bans, and immediate referral to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement.
- All photo uploads pass through automated on-device and cloud content moderation scanners before publication.
4. Information for Parents & Guardians
Parents and guardians can ensure Shoot Your Shot is not accessible to minors on shared or family devices using built-in operating system parental controls:
- Apple iOS (Screen Time): Open Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions → Content Restrictions → Apps, and select an age limit of 12+ or lower. This automatically blocks Shoot Your Shot from being downloaded or opened.
- Google Android (Family Link): Open Google Family Link, select your child's device, tap Controls → Content restrictions → Google Play, and set apps to Teen or lower.
